At this point the first thing we need to do in order to start making your site profitable is to put some ads on it, but before we talk in depth about how that works, we first need to change your site’s design. The design you’re currently using is the one that comes prepackaged with every installation of Wordpress, and quite frankly, It’s no good. We’re going to be installing a new design on your site that’s optimized for advertisements, what this means is that the design we’re going to use has an excellent track record of doing extremely well in terms of earnings potential. Without getting into too much detail at this point, your site will basically earn money by visitors ‘clicking’ on your advertisements, and since you need people to click on your ads to make money, the best way to make money would be to have a site design that blends advertisements with the page nicely. If you’re still not sure what I’m talking about, don’t worry, the logic of using this particular Wordpress theme will be explained in the next section of this guide.

Before you Begin following the steps below, you’ll need the following Programs (Don’t worry, they’re free and safe to use)

FileZilla (It’s an FTP Client. You need it to add / change files on your website)

Notepad++ (Select the npp.5.3.1.Installer.exe ) (A more advanced version of notepad designed specifically for editing HTML / PHP / Code files)

Both of the above programs should be installed before continuing with this part of the tutorial.

Step 1) Download the Wordpress Theme called ‘Blue Sense’ by clicking HERE

Step 2) Extract the File BlueSense.zip  (Right Click -> Extract Files) Winzip should be able to do this fine, but if for some reason it doesn’t work, I recommend you use 7zip, a free open source extracting / archiving program). Inside of the BlueSense.zip file should be a folder called Bluesense. Keep an eye on that folder, because we’re going to have to upload that to your website!

Step 3) Launch FileZilla, and Connect to your website! Do so by putting in the appropriate information for Host: / Username: / Password: (Leave the Port Blank!!) Your ‘Host’ is your domain name, your username and password are the same username and password you used to log in to your Cpanel, the same Login / Password you created when you made your account with Hostgator. (This one is seperate from your Wordpress Admin Password, That one is used to log into the wp-admin section of your site, while the Cpanel password is used to connect to your website through Filezilla). Your Screen Should look like this after you login:

Filezilla Uploading

Keep in Mind once you log in to Filezilla, you ONLY need to focus on the right side where Public_html is emphasized in the picture above. Don’t even look at the boxes to the left, on top and below.

Step 4) We need to actually upload the theme ‘Bluesense’ to your site now. In the above Picture Public_html is highlighted and emphasized because you’re going to need to double click it to enter that directory. From there double click the folder ‘Wp-content’ and from there double click the folder ‘Themes’ and now you’re in the correct folder. Now drag the folder ‘Bluesense’ from your computer anywhere inside of this folder INSIDE of Filezilla. In here will likely be another folder called ‘default’ and ‘Classic’ so if you see those, you know you’re in the right place. It should look like this after you’re done:

Filezilla Theme

Remember, All you need to do is DRAG and Drop the ‘Bluesense’ folder to Filezilla folder ‘Themes’ like the image abow illustrates.

Step 5) Now that you’re finished uploading the new Theme Go to your Wordpress Admin Page (yourdomain.com/wp-admin) and head on over to the ‘Appearance’ Section from the left hand side. From there click on the Bluesense theme’s picture, and at the top right click activate Theme.

Congratulations, Now you’re done! With this step that is. Your new theme should look identical to the theme that is currently on http://earl-grey-tea.org !

===I Know what you’re thinking! This design is UGLY, And You’re 100% correct! Trust me, I know. The goal though is not to have the most eye catching websites, it’s to have the most profitable one, and there is a reason why I strongly recommended this particular theme. It’s explained in the next section===
